Prof. G. Mchedlishvili has a great contribution in forming world rheology as a distinct science (1919-2014). He is the author of “Monograph”, scientific thesis, and two discoveries. G. Mchedlishvili is considered to be the founder of concepts of homheorology in Georgia. He played the key role in shaping M. Mantskava as a rheologist. All of this became possible by the support of the base of the Beritashvili Center of Experimental Biomedicine (earlier known as the Beritashvil Institute of Physiology) and its leadership. Nowadays the leading role in wide spreading and promotion of rheology as a fundamental and applied science is played by Professor D. Nadareishvili – director of the I. Beritashvili Biomedicine and Experimental Center and Academician N.  Mitagvaria – member of the Scientific Board, as well as other  members of the center (L. Davlianidze, M. Nebieridze, M. Devdariani, L. Gumberidze, N. Sikharulidze,  I. Kvachakhidze).
